Are your classes and tours in English?
Yes, all classes and tours are in English by Preston Mohr, a native English speaker. If you’re interested in a class or tour in French, please contact us for more information.
How do I pay for my class or tour?
You may pay for your tour or class by credit card through a secure server. Payment may differ for each class, so please inquire before booking or follow the appropriate links. For private and customized events, I can accept payments via credit card through PayPal’s online secure server.
What’s sets your tours and classes apart from your competition?
First of all, our groups are much smaller than the other wine tastings and tours out there. Smaller group allows for me to help you learn the maximum amount of information in a comfortable and intimate setting. Based on my North American background and language skills, I am able to better understand your background, needs and desires.
Where are your classes held?
Under each class description, you will see the location listed under VENUE towards the bottom of the page. The walking tours through Context vary depending on the walk, their website will tell you more information if you follow the links. My customized, private events and themed workshops can be held in the comfort of your own home, rental apartment or depending on size, at my apartment in Paris. In all cases, locations and meeting points are in central Paris and easy to find via public transportation or taxi. I am also willing to travel for private events.
Are there are prerequisites or previous wine knowledge needed for your classes or tours?
Absolutely not! I am here to explain everything you need to know from the beginning and to make it as fun as possible! Most clients have little or very basic knowledge of winemaking and viticulture. My courses are designed for beginners but even the most seasoned wine buff should not be bored. I will always make sure I’m speaking at the right level for the entire group. If you’re a true connoisseur, I’d love to help plan a customized or private event just for you and highlight a certain region, them or classification of wine (just send me an e-mail!).
I’d like to have a private event or tour. Is that possible?
Yes! Most of my wine classes and services can be arranged for private groups, though the prices may vary. I’ve done courses for 1 person to 120 people with a microphone, so I’m open to all group sizes. I am ready to help you plan a special and memorable wine experience while you’re in France. This could be anything from a “wine bar crawl” on foot, to a prestige wine tasting in the cellar of an 18th century mansion, a special anniversary or birthday champagne tasting in a 13th century stone vaulted cellar, or a fully customized trip to Bordeaux, Burgundy or beyond! Please send me an e-mail and I will get back to you with more details and a price estimate.
Do you have any restaurant recommendations for Paris?
I’m happy to divulge some recommendations when I meet you, based on where you’re staying. While I am not a concierge service, once you book one of my classes I’m delighted to correspond via e-mail before your arrival to suggest some lunch and dinner options, just ask! Many of the finest restaurants require advance notice, so don’t hesitate to get in touch well before your trip.
Can you provide accommodation in Paris?
My apartment is quite small, so no! But, I do work in conjunction with the following apartment rental companies, all specializing in furnished self-catering apartments in Paris. I’ve seen most of the apartments in person and can point you in the right direction.
If you’d rather book a hotel, please inquire when you book and I’m happy to offer a few suggestions.
How do I redeem a gift certificate/voucher and what are the policies?
If you’ve received a gift certificate for a service from Paris By The Glass, please contact us to schedule your service. Gift certificates are valid 1 year from the date of purchase and are non-transferable. Please book as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment. If the service is not available during your dates, the face value of the certificate can be applied to another Paris By The Glass service.
